It’s been a while since I took the time to write my first article. Initially, I wanted to share my bug bounty journey over the past year. That’s why most of my saved list is filled with bug bounty write-ups. However, due to some recent developments, I think it might take too long to wait for that.
Instead, I’ll share some highlights of my journey and what I’ve been up to lately.
I started this journey (Bug Hunting) at the end of 2023 and had to pause it in February 2024, because I received an offer to work as a SOC Analyst. Before getting this offer, I joined a Cyber Security Bootcamp and i learned a lot about both Red Team and Blue Team fields. This was insightful for me because, before this, I only focused on Red Team activities and had no idea what Blue Team jobs entailed.
Going back to my initial story, I paused my bug bounty activities because I didn’t have a proper device. I had to work outside my city, and the computer I used for studying and doing bug bounty was at my church in that city.
At the end of this year (2024), I plan to get a new device and resume what I had missed.
Anyway, my new journey as a SOC analyst has been fun. I’ve learned a lot in this role, and I have plans to become part of a Purple Team. Wish me luck!
